The publishing of the CD is conveniantly on the verge of
the Commemorational Year 2007 of Beniamino Gigli.
The Italian Culture Intitute has supported this effort.
The Cd contains 9 songs from the second Helsinki-concert of Gigli
(31.10.1954), the interview of Gigli in english
in the Swedish radio 10.2.1952, and also six favorite arias and
and six italian songs from the master's best performance time.
This collection gives an all around picture of Gigli
as an artist and as a person. It is also a good introduction
for a beginner to the world of Gigli.
The collection is accompanied by large texts of Gigli
and from his visit in Helsinki with three different languages
(in finnish, in italian and in english), edited by Tero Halvorsen
and Torsten Brander.
